    Position Summary Lead a group of estimators in the costing and pricing of existing and new opportunities.  Supports management, sales, plant staff, finance and other administrative areas by ensuring timely and accurate price quotations are delivered to the sales and manufacturing teams.  Plan resources and workload to ensure cost and pricing estimates are completed and approved in advance to meet SLA’s.  Apply knowledge of print manufacturing to make determinations on best manufacturing methods to produce customer products efficiently while maintaining high quality standards and meeting revenue forecasts for work.

    Responsibilities Work is typically performed under no supervision, with only guidance about overall goals and objectives.  Usually receive minimal to no guidance about how to complete work objectives.  Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short term and long term goals of the department.  Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate into overall work objectives.   Manage and distribute workload of estimating team     Supports platform management, sales, and manufacturing facilities by directing team estimating effort in preparing timely, accurate, and detailed cost estimates for printing jobs by determining the most economical method of manufacturing while considering production capacity and equipment across platforms.  Routinely provide multiple pricing options and scenarios to Sales by comparing different methods of manufacturing, materials, materials sizes etc to deliver pricing options to Sales.   Manages team workload daily through work assignments and setting priorities.  Communicates daily with other estimating teams and estimating management to seek or offer help with workload.  Work with Estimating, Sales and operations to develop competitive price strategy to win prospective and ongoing deals from customers.  Confer with Estimating, Sales and Operations on long term work/ multi-year deals to build pricing models/forecasts.  Serves as a resource to estimating management for improvement/training in procedures and processes making sure processes are followed.    May be responsible for compiling and preparing customer contracts working with legal and updating and appending price schedules and contract terms.  In consultation with sales, may leverage the use of incentives to close competitive deals.  Maintain knowledge of market competitive pricing and factor in the market when developing pricing strategy and recommendations.   Maintains up to date, thorough knowledge of platform capabilities. Assists team as necessary in ensuring best manufacturing method/location is priced on a given opportunity.  Trains new personnel and updates team on any changes/additions to existing processes and procedures  Maintains thorough working knowledge of other RRD BUs including when and how to engage.  Functions as plant and management resource on general pricing and contract issues.

    Pricing Supervisor

     Determine the need to engage outside vendors to produce work and work with external vendors to negotiate pricing and/or timelines.  Works with Procurement and management to find strategic outsourcing vendors.  Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned..

    Required Skills

    Bachelor degree in discipline related to functional work or role with 5-7 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.

    Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.  Must be able consistently identify critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions.  Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions. Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know of decisions/actions/problems.  Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems. Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC, or other technical tools in completing assignments.  Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.  Able to mentor junior level team members in the use of tools and/or systems in the position. Requires excellent communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.   Able to explain programs policies and procedures in language that is understood by others.  . Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted.  Requires strong understanding of the impact of a message on the organization or customer.
