    RR DONNELLEY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED LEADER IN THE RETAIL POP, AND FOLDING CARTON PACKAGING OPERATIONS TO JOIN OUR PACKAGING FACILITY IN ST CHARLES, IL! 

     

    As the leader of the plant, you will provide executive leadership to assigned locations towards the development and execution of plans and strategies for continually improving safety, quality, customer relationships, product development, productivity, and financial success.  You will lead the plant through continual employee development, equipment utilization, equipment development (including automation), and facilities/systems improvement in all functions.  Monitor progress and create action plans as necessary in order to achieve strategic plans, budgets, and corporate goals.

     

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Lead the plant to improved safety, quality, productivity, service performance, reduction of waste and overall cost containment on a consistent and continual basis in all areas.
    • P&L responsibility for a Retail POP/POS and Folding carton Packaging production operation, including the preparation and management of capital and operational budgets.
    • Maintain open communication with plant employees and Corporate Staff to improve safety, quality and productivity.
    • Make recommendations regarding hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, training and merit increases of Plant Personnel. Motivate staff in support of department objectives and timely and effective schedules to ensure production goals.
    • Work to improve the performance of employees through consistent and continual leadership in education and training programs.
    • Provide guidance and direction to department managers regarding the continual improvement of operations for which they have ownership.
    • Work with company Sales Representatives from an operational perspective to maintain and acquire new customers for the organization.
    • Review and report on manufacturing activities, performances and results. Initiate team action to identify and remove problems with schedules, excessive costs, materials or other factors affecting quality, safety, service or productivity levels inconsistent with plant continual improvement efforts.
    • Insure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEO, and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
    • Provide reports and feedback of plant performance to Corporate Staff as required.
    • Demonstrate commitment to continual process improvement efforts in order to assure that all customer expectations (internal and external) are exceeded.
    • Lead the operation through a lean manufacturing journey
    • Perform other related duties and business-related as required.

     

     

    Required Skills

    • Strong leadership skills, leading a plant of 300+ employees
    • Excellent understanding of data, and utilizing data to define strategic and operational objectives
    • Strong communication skills to manage internal and external contacts
    • Track record of leading using lean manufacturing practices

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in business, industrial management, engineering, or related field
    • Minimum 5 years of diversified management experience in a printing facility
    • Experience in Retail POP/POS required
    • Folding  carton packaging operations preferred
    • Excellent track record of leading continuous improvement cultural transformation
    • Excellent knowledge of managing P&L, and strong financial acumen
