  • Responsibilities

     

    This position provides mental health therapy to children, youth, and/or adults experiencing trauma related to the coronavirus pandemic.  The incumbent will also develop and coordinate community resources, and provide interventions, assessments, and stabilization services for patients in crisis.  Provides staff training, develops treatment plans, and facilitates groups and individual and group therapy.

    Required Skills

     

    • Provides direct services to consumers including crisis intervention, mental health assessment, and therapy for individuals, groups, children, married couples, and families, at a level established by the unit
    • Develops comprehensive mental health and case management plans in an accurate and timely manner
    • Assesses crisis situations and determines the best intervention utilizing local community agencies and FNA resources
    • Provides on-going clinical training to BHS staff, to include facilitation of groups to model appropriate group techniques
    • Participates in clinical case staffing in collaboration with clinical team. When necessary, coordinates case conferences with other service providers
    • Carries a case load of eight (8) consumers
    • Provides immediate service until stabilized; refers to other treatment or support services
    • Provides 24 hour on-call services, as scheduled
    • Participates in professional development and quality assurance activities for individuals as well as the unit to improve the quality of service provided
    • Provides case management/file documentation in accordance with established standards, and submit reports (i.e., required for MIS reporting, consumer billing, etc.) and other data in an accurate and timely manner
    • Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings, and presents cases for routine/problematic staffing as needed, including participation in interdisciplinary treatment team
    • Participates as a member of the treatment team
    • Maintains consumer confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPPA
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Experience

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

     

    • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field
    • Five (5) years of experience in counseling and conducting mental health assessments for both adult and adolescent population
    • National or State Substance Abuse Counselor Certification Level II required within one year of hire
    • Three (3) years’ clinical experience
    • Two (2) years’ experience providing culturally specific mental health treatment
    • Experience with electronic health records and billing

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

     

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    • Licensed Professional Counselor
    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor
    • Clinical Supervisor Certification
