    RRD is seeking a Programmer to join our team! This position can be 100% remote!

    Job Summary

    Position requires working independently in a fast-paced computing environment, responding to the needs of RRD clients for automated data processing, management and reporting. Work includes building data and ETL solutions that support our customer’s business need: validation, standardization, error detection, removal of extraneous data, calculation, reconciliation, information append, data mining, relational repositories, reporting and historical storage.

    Data may cross server platforms using tools commonly available in Windows and Cloud environments. Primary connection protocol and automation tools include: API, AWS, sftp, WatchFTP, WatchDirectory, Apache NIFI, Windows Task Manager. Programming tools: Python, SAS, Redpoint, Ignite, Syncsort, SQL, HTML, .Net, C#, JavaScript, batch files, VBA, Powershell.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the business analysts and customers to analyze complex
    • Assist the business analyst with drafting functional and system specifications.
    • Design solutions for projects of complex scope. Including sizing the environment, connectivity, screens, files, reports, security and historical archive retrieval.
    • Responsible for coding, testing, implementing and maintaining automated workflows
    • Work with the business analyst / customer to strategize User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Participate in testing and make adjustments as necessary.
    • Respond to client Process Change Requests (PCR) by scoping the change, provide cost estimate and perform risk assessment.
    • Participate in customer meetings by phone or in person. Serve as a subject matter expert.
    • Prepare system and source documentation for all projects assigned.
    • Provide operational and admin support by monitoring system throughput, quality control and verifying deliverables have been sent.
    • Participate in hiring process, conducts technical interviews and contributes to overall evaluation of candidates.
    • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
    • Mentor and supervise new hires and other level developers

    Required Skills

    • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted.
    • Must be able to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations. Must be able to clearly articulate business needs to both internal and external customers.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable functional developer/analyst work experience.
    • 5+ years of programming experience is required.
    • Knowledge of SQL, entity relationships and query
    • Advanced knowledge of scripting, SAS/Python programming and data manipulation technique is required.
    • Functional knowledge of data processing and cleansing.
    • Basic knowledge of windows server and networking is a plus.
    • Practical experience of data automation software, scripting and connectivity is required.
    • Experience with transitioning mainframe projects to a local and open source platform is a plus
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Access and Visio.

    The national pay range for this role is $73,800 to $129,900 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
