    The Mail Handler is responsible to scanning, stacking, palletizing, wrapping, and loading mail into trailers all approved mail. The Mail Handler ensures that all approved mail is correctly and completely handled according to schedules and internal controls using multiple software applications and floor organization skills.  The Mail Handler follows instructions and activities coordinated by the Mail Expeditors and Supervision to ensure that the mail is properly handled and prepared for USPS approval and delivery.

    1. Scans mail containers to PostalOne! system released by the USPS representative and by Mail Expeditors, and Supervision’s instructions.
    2. Stacks scanned and banded mail containers on USPS pallets according to project information created by the PostalOne! system.  Verifies that the strapping machine properly bands the scanned mail containers and ensures the finished mail pieces are secured within the mail container.
    3. Palletizes the finished mail containers, separating them by project and manually stacking them according to USPS requirements. Labels each pallet or cage with the correct project information to maintain accuracy of pallet contents and ensures visibility of this information.
    4. Wraps each completed pallet using automated stretch-wrapping equipment to ensure the integrity of the finished product. Stages completed mail in the Work In Process area in an organized manner for the final USPS representative approval and release.
    5. Loads the scanned, wrapped, and approved mail into a USPS truck using a transporter or pallet jack.  Ensures the trailer is loaded safely and according to USPS and RRD requirements.  Ensures that a USPS representative seals the USPS truck before the truck is released.
    6. Uploads and loads USPS Supplies Mail equipment to designated inline production areas to ensure the production equipment can run without stopping.
    7. Assists the Mail Expeditor in the operation of the commingle equipment to maximize postage savings for First Class letters and flats.
    8. May include other duties as assigned.

     PAY RATE: $13.50/hr

    SHIFT AVAILABLE:

    • Swing Shift - Mon - Fri 4pm -12am with a $1.25/hr shift differential
    • Day Weekend - Fri - Mon 5am - 5pm with a $1.25/hr shift differential

    Representative Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing the job incumbent:

     

    • Establishes and manages an infectious disease contact tracing program. May conduct contract investigations in collaboration with state and local public health officials.  Creates policies and procedures for contact investigation and tracing and provides direct supervision of Contact Tracers who conduct notification and monitoring of people identified as contacts of patients diagnosed with active infectious disease.

    • Collaborates in the collection, analysis, and evaluation of process and outcome measures related to case investigation and contact tracing activities and related program objectives. Conducts routine report generation and review of performance measures. Identifies new and revised work procedures with potential for improving operating efficiency.

    • Initiates prompt communication with patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Reviews clinically documented and patient’s self-reported COVID-19 symptom history to determine the time-frame when the patient was infectious and not under isolation (contact elicitation window). Works with the patient to identify close contacts during the contact elicitation window, including household members, co-workers, and others who might have been exposed. Documents date, duration, and location of exposure along with name, locating information (e.g., home, phone, email, work), preexisting conditions, and risk factors (if known) for each close contact. Assesses patient’s ability to safely and effectively self-isolate at home.

    • Supervises day-to-day staff activity in the public health team to ensure smooth workflow. Facilitates weekly staff meetings and participates in Medical, Nursing, Health Services, and TCC Executive meetings as needed to provide data, recommendations, and subject matter expertise regarding matter of public health concern.

    • Manages staff schedules for contact tracers, ensuring coverage for contact notification and monitoring. Delegates scheduling responsibility to the subordinate staff as needed.

    • Manages recruitment and retention of contact tracers and other public health staff by conducting hiring, orientation, and ongoing training to ensure that staffing needs are fully met.

    • Plans and implements quality assurance and quality improvement activities within public health in collaboration with clinical staff.

    • Approves/denies leave requests. Processes time cards and performs annual evaluations for each employee under their direct supervision.

    • Manages orientation and training of new hires/contractors/volunteers and existing case investigation and contact tracing staff. Ensures completion of role-specific knowledge and skill-based training courses, familiarity and proficiency with relevant guidance and scripts for interactions with patients and contacts, as well as surveillance and data management systems.

    • Documents patient telephone encounters and patient care coordination in the EHR.

    • Coordinates patient care for their team with the RN Case Manager and Care Coordinator.

     

    Other Responsibilities:

    Supervision: This position may supervise Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Medical Assistants, or other non-clinical employees.

     

    Physical demands: Strength – ability to lift, carry, push or pull medical equipment or client.  Type medical data, stoop to pick up equipment.  Must have adequate vision to complete job tasks. Ability to read instructions and handle specimens.  Excellent speaking and hearing to provide quality care.

     

    Summation:  Position requires strong leadership and management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team. Position requires the ability to adapt and communicate standards of medical care and the knowledge of disease and treatment to individual patient’s situations.  Position requires understanding medical services and their limitations and planning for the optimal outcome under any given circumstance.
