    Shift Schedule: ($2.00 per hour shift differential)

    -$17.25 hr starting, up to $19.25 after 1 year with acceptable performance and attendance

     POSITION PURPOSE:  Evaluate raw materials and manufactured products to ensure they meet Departmental and Customer specifications.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Understand and follow Safety and Quality rules, policies, and procedures.
    2. Various label stock testing.
    3. Paperwork, recordkeeping and filing.
    4. Wet chemical / product testing.
    5. Special testing.
    6. Calibration and troubleshooting of equipment.
    7. Sample preparation and record retention.
    8. Report Preparation (e.g. Non-conforming Product, Certificate of Analysis).
    9. Research, analysis and reporting of historical product performance.
    10. Assist in the development and interpretation of quality control specifications.
    11. Monitor laboratory material / chemical inventory and ensure stock remains in-supply.
    12.  Perform other related duties and overtime as required.

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION:  High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:  Previous laboratory and/or quality control experience in manufacturing environment preferred, but not required

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures and other related documents and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with internal and external customers.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, couch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
