    Part Time / Temporary thru July 31, 2020

     

    Summary: Order, receive, catalogue, and shelve library materials for the Woody Island Tribal Library. Other Library administration and patron outreach as time and resources allow.

    Required Skills

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Review of and data entry into the Woody Island Tribal Library catalogue database, using LibraryThing online cataloguing website/application.

    • Select new library materials for order on Amazon.com to expand collection.

    • Responsible use of purchase card to order library materials.

    • Receive deliveries as they ship from Amazon. Scan received books into the Woody Island Tribal Library catalogue database using barcode scanner or library iPad.

    • Draft, print, and affix appropriate spine labels to books.

    • Transport catalogued/labeled books to library room for shelving (preferably using own vehicle).

    • Shelve and re-shelve books at library room in an organized fashion.

    • Assist with Library administration, patron outreach, implementation of a patron database, and issuing library cards.

    Required Experience

     

    COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND DEMANDS. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

     

    • Ability to stay on task with internet-based work with little or no supervision.

    • Ability to be professional and discrete in a larger office environment where coworkers may be serving individuals with behavioral/substance use needs.

    • Ability to be trusted with key accessing storage unit that holds other non-library property and records of the Tribe, use Tribe’s Amazon.com account linked to supervisor’s purchase card.

    • Ability to navigate a tight storage unit, lift 10-30 lb. totes, and shelve 1-5 lb. books at or above shoulder height.

    • Driver’s license, and preferably own vehicle able to transport book totes.

    • Computer and internet competencies to navigate web-based catalogue database.

    • Ability to read and write English.
