    THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION AND THE POSITION CAN BE 100% REMOTE! 

     

    The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer will have had previous Application Development experience (preferably .NET and SQL) and then later on moved to development with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). He/she will work with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical SFMC solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. He/she will be involved in all phases of the full development life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting SFMC applications and solutions.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Independently develop code, test, debug, maintain, modify, and deploy/publish complex SFMC applications/solutions. Use extensive knowledge of available utilities to simplify tasks.  Participates in code walkthroughs.
    • Develops unit tests and test scripts; performs unit, regression, conversion and parallel tests; develops end-to-end/integration test data and performs end-to-end/integration tests. Assists quality assurance testing teams with testing plans.
    • Independently analyze and document test results to ensure that applications/solutions are meeting the technical requirements.  Partner with designers to update technical requirements documentation for redesign and/or re-coding of applications/solutions that do not meet desired specifications.
    • Research and resolve complex development issues and implement longer term solutions to frequently occurring issues.
    • Develop application/solution specifications and flowcharts, (data flows, process flows, etc.), for stand-alone applications or solutions.  Prepare concise internal application/solution documentation on application/solution development and revisions.
    • Conveys problems, solutions, updates and project status to peers, customers and management.  Develops and maintains application, solution and user documentation.
    • Prepare time estimates for assigned tasks. Attends post-implementation reviews.
    • Takes responsibility for personal technical and professional growth.  Assists junior level developers with department procedures, environment, and tools, utilities and development standards and protocols.
    • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

     

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering with 5-7 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
    • At least 3 years of Application Development (e.g. .NET and SQL) experience is strongly preferred as well as at least 3 years of experience as a developer/technical resource with the SFMC platform.
    • Must have experience and understanding of relational databases and development competency around MS SQL Server. Experience in writing complex SQL statements is required. 
    • Advanced knowledge of .NET (C#), SQL, Javascript (framework and runtimes like React, Angular, Node.js), AMPScript, SSJS, SFMC REST/SOAP APIs
    • Advanced experience with integration development using REST and SOAP APIs (both SFMC APIs and external 3rd party APIs)
    • Advanced experience with the SFMC platform including, but not limited to Email Studio, Web Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder. Nice to have: Einstein, Interaction Studio, and Advertising Studio.
    • Must be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the information technology environment/infrastructure and be able to identify and resolve complex challenges associated with the work. 
    • Experience with agile software development is preferred.
    • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the full range of customer information/data management systems and related processes and protocols.
    • Must be able to effectively analyze and solve the more difficult and complex work related problems by using past experience, research, and best practice information.
    • Requires excellent communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.   
    • Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted.
    • Able to write with the clarity and precision necessary for the work being performed.
