This position provides direct primary oral health and preventative oral health care for SVT Health & Wellness Patient Partners in an ambulatory dental clinic within a Community Health Center. Services of complete family dentistry include adult and child dental exams, hygiene visits, pediatric, adult, and geriatric dental treatment, fillings and crowns, root canals, extractions, and walk-in/emergency exams/treatments.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide quality, cost-effective dental care to patients within scope of training, capabilities, and licensing to include SVT criteria as a dentist/dental director.
- Diagnose oral conditions, evaluate oral health, Interpret x-rays and other diagnostic tests, and plan and provide treatment.
- Maintain and update dental charts and records in a timely fashion established by SVTHW policy and procedure.
- Maintain current Alaska licensing as a Dentist and unrestricted DEA licensing.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee or other programs as assigned.
- Participate in clinic meetings as required
- Develop and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with other local and regional health care providers, agencies, community groups and programs to enhance public relations.
- Actively promote Seldovia Village Tribe’s services and programs.
- Other duties as assigned

Required Experience
Education: Doctorate Required, Field of Study: Dental
Experience:
- 1-3 Years experience practicing dentistry
- Knowledge and experience working with underserved populations of people, preferred
- Experience working with pediatric patients strongly preferred
Certifications/Licensure:
- Valid State of Alaska Dental license. If unlicensed in Alaska, must be able to obtain State License within 6 months of date of hire.
- DEA License
- CPR/BLS – Provided by SVT
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Mac, PC, and Microsoft Office Products, required.
- Electronic Health Record experience, required.
Travel Requirements:
- Quarterly travel to Seldovia and/or Anchor Point. Travel to be conducted mostly as day-trips, but is subject to inclement weather. Travel may occur by boat, plane, or car.
Employment Requirements:
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check
- Must successfully complete credentialing and privileging
- Must undergo FBI Fingerprinting
