  • Responsibilities

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Developmental Services, the Registered Dietitian / Food Service Manager plans, directs, and provides all aspects of nutritional care to residents of Allied Services ICF/ID Program. The Registered Dietitian / Food Service Manager must demonstrate skill in the following areas: posses the ability to assess data reflective of the residents’ nutritional status; interpret all appropriate information needed to identify each resident’s nutritional requirements relative to their age specific needs; and provide nutritional care relating to specific needs identified above, as described in the Food Service Department’s Policies and Procedures.

    EDUCATION:

     

    Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree from an accredited college or University with a major in Nutrition or Dietetics required.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

     

    Minimum of two (2) years experience in an adult or geriatric health care environment preferred.

    Develops, reviews and revises ICF/MR nutritional policies as necessary.

    Monitors all nutritional aspects of clients’ care, including but not limited to weight, skin condition, feeding skills, appetite, lab work, dentition, food/medication interaction.

    Purchasing of all necessary food and supplies (including physical inventory, ordering and receiving) for DSD Dietary Department.

    Manages daily operation of Dietary Department including handling any departmental personnel issues or issues of food production, preparation and food service.

    Develops menu cycle appropriate to adult MR population according to current Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Modifies general menu for all therapeutic and mechanically altered diets. Completes nutrient analysis of menus and insures nutritional needs of client population are met.

    Oversees all dietary sanitation procedures, with routine sanitation inspections being completed to monitor compliance of state and federal regulations.

    Maintains credentials as outlined by CDR and ADA, including attendance at educational seminars and workshops.

    Completes on a timely basis all initial assessments, 30 and 90-day progress notes and annual assessments on all DSD clients (including William Warren Scranton Residence, Lynett Village and Community Residences 1, 2, 3, and 4. These reports are to be also considered nutritional care plans.

  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 15+ years of experience with Army Staff at either the uniform or civilian side is required, preferably as Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard 
    • Experience with managing diverse teams
    • Experience with a range of writing styles, including PowerPoint, fact sheets, social media, and formal correspondence
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance
    • MA or MS degree
