With 2,949 employees, more than 1,000 physicians and 546 licensed beds, United Hospital provides a full range of health care services to 200,000 inpatients and outpatients each year. -Responsibilities -Assessments - Collects, prioritizes, and synthesizes comprehensive data pertinent to the patients health or situation -Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses -Outcomes Identifications - Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient -Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes -Implementation - Implements the identified plan -Evaluation - Evaluates the patients progress towards attainment of the outcome -Quality of Practice - Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice -Education - Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice -Professional Practice Evaluation - Evaluates ones own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and regulatory guidelines -Collegiality - Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others -Collaboration - Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice -Ethics - Acts in an ethical manner -Research - Integrates research findings in practice -Resource Utilization - Incorporates factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in planning and delivering patient care -Leadership - Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession -Works in United Pain Center Procedural Care area- IV starts, procedural RN work, moderate sedation, phase II recovery -Education -Graduate of an accredited school of nursing -ANCC Pain management nursing certification- must obtain within 1.5 years from date of orientation completion -Qualification/Skills -Current RN licensure in the State of Minnesota -Current ACLS/BLS certification, or acquired within 90 days -Preferred experience in ambulatory care setting or phase II recovery, recent experience with acute and chronic pain patients; proficient with IV insertion skills -Two years overall RN experience and 2000 practice hours in RN pain management in the previous three years from date of hire -Experience with behavioral health and substance abuse preferred -Critical thinking / problem solving skills -Strong assessment and clinical skills -Organizational / time management skills / prioritization -Delegation skills -Customer Service / interpersonal skills -Multi-tasking skills -Team player -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Can speak, understand, write and communicate in English -Work Schedule -24 hours a week -Monday - Friday - variable start times -Benefit eligible -MNA Contract -Location/Community Information With beautiful natural settings along the Mississippi River, St. Paul embodies a large ethnically diverse population with restaurants, cultural entertainment, and shopping venues for everyone.
