    Medical Assistant / Procedure Coordinator - Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center - Full Time Days Position Summary: Under the general direction of the site manager and the Director of Imaging, coordinates all special procedures within the Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center including aspirations, biopsies, pre-operative wire-localizations, and post-biopsy imaging through scheduling with patients and/or provider representatives via telephone or in-person. Facilitates communication between providers to provide services for patients receiving mammography , breast ultrasound and/or breast MRI via Outside Film Review. Obtains insurance authorizations for procedures from referring physician offices and/or direct request from insurance providers as available. Provides appropriate information to patients requiring special procedures through written and verbal instructions. Schedules procedures in a timely manor within guidelines established by Supervisor, Manager and/or Radiologist direction. Utilizes all technologist and radiologist availabilities to ensure schedules are filled accordingly. Works with technologists and radiologists to facilitate urgent/STAT cases as needed. May also act as a Receptionist/Scheduler, Medical Assistant, or any other role in the support staff as business needs dictate. Licensures/Certifications: * Certified Medical Assistant - CMA required or must obtain within one (1) year of hire.
