Intern, Accounting (Finance) Starting Date of Internship: October 1st Anticipated Completion Date: January 31st Expected Pay for Internship Per Hour: $15/hour Basic Purpose: This internship provides a qualified candidate the opportunity to work within a finance department on several different non-profits, with a focus on the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. Key goals 1. Understand non-profit financial statements 2. Understand the purpose/importance of each piece of finance department 3. Hands on experience with daily, weekly, and monthly accounting duties for a non-profit Primary Duties: * Assist with accounts receivable * Assist with accounts payable * Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations * Prepare drafts of UCNS monthly financials * Assist with 1042 and 1099 preparation * Assist with an internal audit of fixed assets * Other duties as assigned Skills: * Excellent attention to detail * Interest in/experience with accounting software * Proficient in Excel and Word * Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously * Strong collaboration skills Education: Highest level of education is high school; must currently be in college Physical demands: * Ability to sit for long periods of time No benefits included.
