    Job Summary As a Medical Scribe, you will provide recording services to providers and are responsible for enhancing provider productivity and effectiveness by ensuring accurate and timely completion of provider orders, medical records, referrals, and other medical documentation.

    Responsibilities

    · Enhance provider productivity and effectiveness by recording patient visit data, monitoring completion of patients’ charts, and facilitating smooth patient flow.

    · Assist provider in attaining and maintaining patient in-clinic time below 65 minutes.

    · Work alongside provider on a continuous basis including accompanying physician in exam rooms.

    · Document History of Present Illness, Family and Social History, Review of Systems, and Physical Exam as dictated by the provider.

    · Capture accurately all symptoms, diagnoses, follow-up care and prescriptions as dictated by the provider. Ensure accurate selection of diagnosis and treatment codes.

    · Enter tests and procedures as ordered by provider.

    · Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.

    · Ensure laboratory results are reviewed on a daily basis.

    · Ensure Visits Not Locked and Visits on Hold are completed each day.

    · Identify patient charts that need additional attention to complete patient visits such as missing, incomplete, and inconsistent data. Prompt provider to ensure complete, accurate and timely patient charting.

    · Follow-up timely on diagnostic orders, referrals, and pre-certifications where required to ensure documentation is made a part of the medical record.

    · Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.

    · Report potentially unsafe conditions to management.

    · Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities

    · Assist in other areas of clinic operations consistent with experience and training

    · Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to understand medical terminology. Demonstrated high competence in utilizing an electronic medical records (EMR) system. Ability to record data quickly, accurately, and legibly.
