    Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant Department Lab AACH (1200-70301) Schedule Part Time Hours 40 Targeted Starting Range $15.28 - $19.10 Req. Number 28525 Job Details The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant Position Overview The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant orders, draws, receives and processes laboratory specimens and is responsible for specimen accuracy and integrity in all parts of Pre-Analytical specimen handling. This role will require using independent judgment in following established venipuncture procedures & works under general supervision as well as the ability to inspire confidence in and communicate effectively with patients and family, registration staff, unit secretaries, healthcare providers & visitors. QUALIFICATIONS Education · High school diploma or equivalent. Experience · 1 year laboratory experience or equivalent experience in a healthcare related field, required. · Knowledge of laboratory specimen requirements, preferred · Experience with special drawing procedures (babies, therapeutic phlebotomies, combative patients, etc.) preferred · 1-2 years phlebotomy experience preferably in a Clinical Laboratory or hospital setting; preferred Licensure/Certifications · Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance, required · Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology, preferred · Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA), preferred · Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC), preferred What We Offer · Competitive starting wage · Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and wellness · Excellent retirement package with up to 6% employer contribution · Generous Earned Time Off · Tuition reimbursement after one year of service About Asante and Southern Oregon Asante is a local, community owned and governed, not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive health care services to more than 550,000 people in a nine-county area of Southern Oregon and Northern California.
