Number 27446 Job Details 40 Hour OT Rule - OT paid after 40 worked hours in a week Full Time Benefited 80 hrs/per pay period Medical Billing Specialist Position Overview At Asante, the Medical Billing Specialist performs account analysis and functions required to receive reimbursement from governmental and non-governmental insurance carriers in an efficient, productive and compliant manner following departmental policy and procedures. This requires working proactively and assisting the public with medical financial responsibilities in a way which will provide continual success for the Asante organization As a Medical Billing Specialist at Asante, you will have the opportunity to: · Effectively and accurately manage assigned accounts receivable to obtain accurate reimbursement from governmental and non-governmental insurance carriers · Complete all standard and special monthly aging reports contributing to Asante's financial success by requiring reimbursement from insurance carriers in a timely manner · Complete weekly Medicare credit balance report · Show ability to research, analyze, and resolve claim denials and problems without assistance from Patient Accounts Supervisor or Business Office Coordinator · Show ability to self-audit, and accept coaching feedback. · Maintain consistent professional demeanor with the team QUALIFICATIONS Education · High school diploma or equivalent required · Associates or Bachelors Degree; two years college; or equivalent experience, preferred Experience · Three years of hospital billing or business office experience, or the equivalent in education and experience (providing knowledge of office and accounting practices, insurance billing, and other office-related skills and functions) is required · Experience with the Siemens Medical Solutions (SMS) operating system; knowledge of hospital billing software E-Premis; direct experience in hospital billing; and/or one year of successful experience in Patient Account Rep Level II job, preferred Required Skills and Abilities · Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to organize and prioritize work · Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems · Strong customer service skills, an ability to handle conflict, and to maintain a calm demeanor during stressful situations · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Demonstrated proficiency using computers and typing skills, including Microsoft Office applications Compensation & Benefits · Competitive starting wage · Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and wellness · Excellent retirement package with up to 6% employer contribution · Generous Earned Time Off · Tuition reimbursement after one year of service About Asante and Southern Oregon Asante is a local, community owned and governed, not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive health care services to more than 550,000 people in a nine-county area of Southern Oregon and Northern California.
