Description: This person lives in the clients home and provides home care services. Caregivers provide non-medical services and assist with activities of daily living. Services can include, but are not limited to, housekeeping, shopping, cooking and meal preparation, laundry, personal care and companionship.
Qualifications: Previous care giving experience is preferred, minimum 1 year. CPR, TB Negative, Car Insurance, Social Security Card, and State ID as well as registration on the Illinois Healthcare registry, is required for all caregivers within 30 days of employment.
Candidates must be dependable, friendly and able to adapt to different situations. Candidates should have excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently. Must be friendly, dependable, caring and get along well with others. Background check required for all employees. Must be able to be bonded and Insured.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides assistance that is not medical in nature, but is based upon assisting the client in meeting the demands of living independently and maintaining a personal residence, such as companionship, cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal preparation, dressing and bathing assistance.
Services will be provided in accordance with the policies and procedures of Assisting Hands and the service arrangements determined in the contract.
Report changes and observations of client functioning to the Referral Coordinator
Complete all appropriate record documentation.
A successful Caregiver will ensure:
The client is well groomed and personal care is provided appropriately
There are no safety concerns
Proper lifting is used to ensure caregiver and client safety
Caregiver is communicating with family, client and Assisting Hands Staff frequently and appropriately
Level of services being provided is excellent according to client, family and Assisting Hands Staff
Policies and procedures are being followed by the caregiver
Schedule is adhered to and caregiver is on time.
Caregiver appearance is appropriate
