    Job Description:

    We are searching for the best talent to join our MedTech Surgery team as an Associate Director, New Product Development for our Biosurgery Platform, located in Raritan, NJ.

    Purpose: The Associate Director, R&D Biosurgery will serve as a key technical leader in our new product development team. This team of scientists, engineers, and technical specialists are in the forefront of technology in the medical device industry. As a key member of our group, you will be making vital contributions to the New Product Development (NPD) pipeline and improving patient care through innovation. This role provides an opportunity to bring exciting new biosurgery products to market while also providing the opportunity for leadership and significant professional growth .

    In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

    • Collaborate with external suppliers and internal partners to develop products
    • Leads technical functional leaders (formulation, process, etc.) to ensure prioritization and technical delivery for Biosurgery NPD programs
    • Accountable for technical program / project scoping and chartering, in addition to developing formula optimization strategy for new product commercialization and technical business case development/delivery, collaborating with technical operations for productivity opportunities, both cost saving and cost avoidance
    • Nurture technical mastery, critical thinking and problem solving. Drive cross-functional learning plans
    • Oversee the team’s project activities, resource utilization (including budget) and document management to meet timeline
    • Lead the Biosurgery R&D technical programs as a change agent; ensuring NPD programs are executed to plan; ensure a clear understanding of the customer/market needs, drive programs towards the realization of a future state of executing work more efficiently
    • Coaches, mentors and guides R&D team to create a culture of candor, operational excellence and project execution. Staff the organization for success by coordinating hiring practices
    • Drive a culture of innovation (solution centric mindsets, can-do approach) focused on technical rigor while meeting Design controls requirements. Collaborates with Program Leadership to champion team effectiveness, empowerment culture, urgency, accountability, achievement, and decision making

    Education:

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or focused degree in Science, Biochemistry, Materials Science, Chemistry or Engineering preferred

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Successful R&D Experience in implantables, resorbables or biomaterials
    • Successful experiences in launching new products & formulations to market
    • Experience leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environment
    • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership responsibilities
    • Experience leading the transformation of work processes and functional teams; must have proven track record of inspiring change in individuals, groups and organizational capabilities

    Preferred Skills & Experience:

    • Experience in Medical Device industry required. Experience with respect to PMA
    • Excellent communication, teamwork and influencing skills. Must be proficient at succinctly disseminating information to enable effective decision-making

    Other:

    • Travel up to 25% may be required (domestic and international)

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is [$173,500] to [$235,000]

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
