BWilsonville, Oregon 97007www.avamere.com The primary responsibility of this position is to establish and maintain employee payroll records and assist the overall Payroll Departments clerical duties. Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset Review and audit timekeeping records for compliance and established standards.Enter new hires into the payroll system, maintain time and attendance records, and post changes in pay and tax status, and other miscellaneous changes.Daily monitor the payroll department mail and email inboxes, researching all issues with follow through to resolution. Escalate issues when appropriate.Process unemployment requests and bi-weekly and monthly billing from ADP.Process new hires for the corporate office, termination reporting, pay cards, direct deposit entries, and Employee Self Service (ESS) password resets.Process and review new hires in the Workers Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program, Bureau of Labor Statistics requests (BLS), written or verbal Verification of Employment (VOE), and Oregon Employment Surveys (OES).Assist with documentation on payroll processes and maintain filing for the department. High School diploma or equivalent, additional schooling or training highly preferred. Must have 1+ years of experience processing payroll, or in a similar accounting field.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and payroll principles and procedures.Excellent communication and verbal skills (both written and oral) in order to effectively problem solve with other employees, all levels of Avamere staff and third parties external to Avamere.Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate and solve problems with minimal assistance.Understanding of modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment.Proven capability for effective use of computer systems including spreadsheet, word processing and email software.Must maintain a high standard of confidentiality and honesty.Must work effectively as a team member, with management staff and must be able to work independently and/or unsupervised.
