    Job Summary:

    Position reports to the Director of Threat Management and Intelligence – Analyst will be considered a SME and will play a pivotal role in the assessment and management of cybersecurity threats and incidents. The analyst will contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and continuous process improvement of the Avangrid Corporate Security Threat Management and Intelligence program and processes. This includes, but is not limited to, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external third parties to ensure that appropriate and adequate security actions are taken to protect critical data and infrastructure. This position will require working with geographically dispersed business partners, technical staff, internal and external threat, and intelligence teams.
    • Research and uncover the unknown about cyber security threats and threat actors.
    • Collect, analyze and disseminate threat information such as indicators of compromise and tactics, techniques and procedures used by threat actors.
    • Hunt for and identify threat actors by analyzing and researching the techniques, tools and processes used by threat actors.
    • Participate in hunt missions using threat intelligence, analysis of anomalous log data and results of brainstorming sessions to detect and eradicate threat actors.
    • Provide expert analytic investigative support of large scale and complex security incidents.
    • Perform analysis of security incidents & threat actors for further enhancement of threat analysis.
    • Document best practices with the threat monitoring staff using available collaboration tools and workspaces.
    • Assist with the day-to-day risk mitigation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting as it relates to cybersecurity.
    • Participating in external industry expert forums, global working groups and external organizations or groups.
    • Maintain excellent relationships with government and industry partners.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree, in information/data security, information technology, computer science or related field of study.
    • Graduate: 0-2 Years 
    • Experience in information/cyber security risk management, cybersecurity intelligence, researching and uncovering cybersecurity threats and threat actors, and threat management and response.

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders locally and globally
    • Ability to lead work processes and work independently
    • Strong documentation and communications skills
    • Ability to interpret and determine the impact of threats to IT and OT systems
    • Ability to understand and communicate compliance and regulatory requirements
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, strong multi-tasking skills
    • A passion for Cyber Threat Hunting, research, and uncovering the unknown about threats and threat actors
