    The Department of Art and Design invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach ONLINE ART HISTORY COURSES AT THE MASTER’S LEVEL.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to deliver instruction via an online course management system. In addition, faculty responsibilities may include:

    • Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.

    • Student advising and office hours in relation to the course load carried, and as assigned in the faculty teaching assignment.

    • Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades from evaluation of tests, quizzes, homework, and other assignments and activities related to course material.

    • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate in art history or a related area.
    • Preferred experience includes teaching online at the college or university level and familiarity with Canvas or another course management system.
    • The ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
    • A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University.

     

     

    WORKLOAD

    Assigned teaching duties will not exceed 9 units per semester; office hours and additional duties may be assigned. Total workload will not exceed 29 hours per week, nor 24 units per 12-month period.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
    • 3 years of direct hands-on experience as a Human Resource Generalist
    • Previous experience in manufacturing environment strongly preferred
    • Thorough working knowledge of local state and federal employment law, HR processes and best practices, benefits and an understanding of payroll and compensation.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels
    • Ability to handle personal, sensitive and emergency situations in a responsive, professional and confidential manner.
    • Ability to manage the full cycle of recruiting, new hire orientation and benefits enrollment.
    • Ability to manage dynamic workload and multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to analyze data/HR metrics and make proposals to improve organizational efficiency.
    • Excellent communication skills - listening, verbal, written, presentation, analytical and critical thinking.
    • Knowledge of and desire to keep watchful eye on HR industry trends and best practices.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS system administration and data integrity.
    • Ability to travel as needed to conferences/seminars, other corporate locations, etc. (<25%).
