Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating the staff development program for the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and the Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC). Responsible for the coordination of required training as set forth in various regulations. Educates staff to competence according to standards, regulations, and best-practice using a variety of teaching methods. Facilitates achievement of staff role clarity, professional role confidence, and proficiency. Operates as a change agent in the practice and learning environment.
Required Skills
Required Experience
Current California RN license
BSN degree required
Evidence of continuing education and self-development
Prior experience in an acute care facility or formal classroom education
Prior experience in long-term care settings
Knowledge of Title XXII, OBRA, MDS, and Medicare regulations
Knowledge/experience in adult teaching methods.
Director of Staff Development certification (DSD) within six months of hire
