    Summary:

    Infection Control Supervisor provides oversight, consultation, and implementation of organization wide Infection Prevention and Control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, vendors, and volunteers in coordination with the Director of Infection Control. This is conducted in compliance with infection control guidelines and regulatory requirements. Duties include surveillance for healthcare acquired infections (HAIs); collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of surveillance data; outbreak identification and investigation; and program evaluation. Responsible for the day-to-day administration and development of the infection surveillance, prevention, and control program.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    Leads development, implementation, and management of the Infection Prevention and Control program

    • Assure compliance with infection control guidelines and regulatory requirements.
    • Directly supervise those who conduct surveillance rounds at campuses to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
    • Provide effective leadership in promotion of medical asepsis and oversee proper safeguards against the transmission of infection.
    • Develop and implement infection control protocols, standard work, and communicate to all RBH employees.
    • Review and update staff education in relation to Employee Health (TB, Bloodborne pathogen exposures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), requirements, manager needs).
    • Interpret and recommend isolation policies and procedures for the organization.
    • Collect, analyze, and report data related but not limited to HAIs, surveillance, and outbreaks.
    • Annually review and revise the Infection Control Manual, Joint Commission (JC) binders and materials, and policies, more frequently reviewed as needed.

    Nursing Education

    • Assist director with systemic needs, assessments and training throughout the system related to infection control in clinical practice to ensure standardization nursing competence and provision of care.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Supervise personnel.

    • Promote a team environment by example and by participating in workload completion, when necessary.
    • Interact with employees in a sensitive, positive manner.
    • Understand and use the Human Resources policies and procedures manual.
    • Process timecards in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Involve the Human Resources Business Partner in any potentially volatile employee-related situation and initiate disciplinary process, as needed.
    • Communicate with employees promptly when incidents arise that may be a detriment to their performance or to Rogers Behavioral Health in general.
    • Assist employees in profession growth.

    Promote department goals as well as the mission of

    • Communicate goals to fellow staff members.
    • Demonstrate measurable goal achievement.
    • Maintain department policies and procedures.
    • Include requirements and guidelines from external agencies (i.e., Joint Commission , CMS, OSHA and State of Wisconsin).
    • Maintain and/or communicate to the appropriate party, a function backlog at a set time.
    • Educate new staff regarding regulations or requirements of those functions that relate to their areas or departments, as directed.
    • Demonstrate acceptance and training of student interns in the department, as directed.

    Education/Training Requirements:

    • Bachelor degree in nursing (BSN) preferred. Nursing degree is Current license in good standing as a registered nurse by the State of Wisconsin.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the occupational health or infection control is
    • Understanding of Joint Commission , CDC and related regulations and/or requirements.
    • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license is Must be granted insurable status by the Rogers Memorial Hospital insurance policy.
    • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
