    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a RN ANM 3N Med/Surg Evenings.

    In this role, the successful candidate Responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining standards, the delivery of patient care, directing and facilitating work performance of all personnel on a defined patient care area and maximizes patient outcomes.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Assesses patient symptoms for various medical problems with the ability to determine if the patient should be seen by the physician or seek emergency care. Schedule emergency or same day appointments based upon telephone assessment. Answer all general medical questions. Provide lab test results with physician recommendations. Communicates patient information to the physician and follows through with physician recommendations. Documents all telephone conversations related to the patient assessment and management in the medical record.
    * Able to work independently as well as with physicians, NP, PA, MA, and office staff. Review charts and Lab test results, monitor patient s progress, recognize abnormalities an takes appropriate action. Monitors working environment to assure effective use of resources and staff in order to maintain efficient patient flow. Is organized and efficient with a strong ability to prioritize. Identifies and responds to medical emergencies. Delegates aspects of care team members consistent with their scope of care, capabilities, responsibility, and monitors completion of assigned task.
    * Assesses patient s clinical status, evaluates and documents patient s response to current treatment plan. Collaboratively reviews plan of care, modifies treatment plan as recommended and updates plan accordingly. Administers IV medication as ordered. Provides direct patient care and maintains accurate records of care and observations.
    * Assists in scheduling tests procedures as ordered by physicians. Obtains prior authorizations as required. Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies. Initiate homecare referrals. As well as reviewing patient Status outcomes with the home care nurse agencies. Knowledge of CDC, DOH, & OSHA standards as they apply to the healthcare environment. Ensures appropriate ER equipment is operational. Maintains quality assurance assignments.
    * Practices, facilitates, and role models the principles of team building, delegation and communication to demonstrate effective leadership skills. Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-services. Participates in orientation of new employees as needed. Maintains competences. Demonstrates accountability with respect to staffing and scheduling. Flexibility coordinates activities of the practice and matches appropriate schedule and office needs.
    * Participates in and promotes staff development and overall patient care. Provides information and knowledge for departmental problem solving and staff cohesiveness. Assist with staff orientation process. Prepare monthly schedule, monitor and cover sick calls. Maintain quality assurance.
    
    * Performs other duties as assigned
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Associate Degree Nursing, Bachelors Degree highly desired and required within 2 years of start date.
    Current NYS Registered Nurse
    Current NYS Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
    1-2 years Related work experience.
    Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organization skills. Proficiency with Computers..

    Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

    Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $93,000.00 - $113,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
