Job Description
PURPOSE: Human Resources is responsible for planning, administering, communicating, and organizing The Human Resources programs, policies and procedures at a professional level. Is also responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and referring applicants for a broad range of positions in an assigned region/territory. The Human Generalist II collaborates with hiring managers conducting intake meetings to gain perspective on each open position and determine a strategy for filling vacancies. The following functional areas are included: employee relations, training, labor relations, staffing, employee benefits, compensation, employment equity programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops and implements targeted recruitment strategies. Assists in establishing best practice recruitment efforts and adjust recruitment strategy as needed.
· Develops professional relationships with the hiring managers and executives to be used as a strong resource in the recruitment process.
· Reviews Human Resources management throughout the facility to assure compliance with established federal, state and corporate policies and procedures & collaborates in audits.
· Using all resources available, source candidates to meet client needs.
· Conduct telephone and personal interviews with candidates for employment.
· Work with departments to manage and update applicant database/tracking system (ATS) to maintain records, reports and logs pertaining to applicant flow, interviews conducted and staffing.
· Verify licensures and credentials for all required positions.
· Answers employee questions regarding HR information, (i.e. handbook information and policies and procedures). Refers questions to Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
· Places advertising verifies advertising invoices, and tracks advertisement costs.
· Contact assigned colleges and various other groups regarding employment opportunities. Coordinate and attend recruiting events such as job fairs. Coordinate internship opportunities with school partners.
· Provide information and answer all questions from potential applicants regarding positions for which they are interested, including but not limited to pay rate, work hours, physical requirements and detailed information on all duties they would perform in that position. Inform applicant of various company policies and benefits.
· Maintain Recruitment Reports and ensure information is accurate and proper staffing needs are met.
· Create offer letters and ensure necessary paperwork for new-hires is completed.
· Assures compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
· Acts as back up to Human Resources Generalist I. Is cross trained and can perform HR Generalist I duties as needed.
· Participates in employee relations, meets with employees, conducts investigations, etc. Documents issues correctly and works to resolve conflict and create a positive work environment.
· Participates in the development of departmental goals and objectives, recommends new approaches, policies and procedures for continued process improvement.
· Active participant in any HR sponsored events or programs, for example employee recognition events, HR meetings.
· Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
· Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
· Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
· Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources field.
Minimum of two (2) years recruiting experience required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Proficiency in ENGLISH AND SPANISH required; other languages preferred.
· Previous experience with CRM/ATS a plus.
· Previous experience in recruiting for mental health professionals, a plus.
· Previous agency recruitment experience, a plus.
· Must be able to work independently with competent decision making using established criteria and guidelines.
· Must be organized and able to schedule work load appropriately without hindrance to client appointments etc.
