    The Biotherapeutics Development & Supply-Analytical Development (BTDS-AD) in Janssen is recruiting for an Intern located in Malvern, PA. We discover and develop creative large molecule solutions to address significant unmet medical needs in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, infectious diseases and vaccines, and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

    The Analytical Development organization is continuing to build key scientific expertise in protein and vaccine characterization, and primary structure elucidation. We need a hardworking intern willing to bring your expertise to exciting efforts in novel areas of protein characterization.

    You will join the Primary Structure team within the Characterization group in the BTDS-AD department to conduct product characterization and process development activities. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

    • Operate state-of-the-art LC and MS instrumentation
    • Learn and apply software packages for LCMS/protein analysis
    • Perform quantitation of released glycans
    • Craft and implement protein clean-up steps on monoclonal antibodies
    • Develop/optimize assays, write protocols, reports
    • Lead or facilitate technical discussions and participate in cross-functional teams at project-related meetings

    Qualifications

    Looking for a result focused, hardworking individual who demonstrates excellent scientific knowledge and the highest standards? Do you love solving scientifically complicated problems? If so, you could be the person we are looking for. Additionally, you should have:

    • Proficiency at optimizing and trouble-shooting problems
    • Experience maintaining high quality documentation, analyzing and accurately interpreting data, and preparing reports, and SOPs
    • Strong written and verbal communication and excellent interpersonal skills
    • Interested in learning new things and comfortable taking the initiative to seek out projects or new areas of responsibility
    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Candidate must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or MBA
    • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required - 3.0 of GPA is preferred
