Job Summary :
The Business Development Specialist plays a critical role in driving sustainable growth for Twin Cities Pain Clinic by developing and strengthening referral relationships with physicians, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare partners throughout the Twin Cities metro area. This role is responsible for increasing qualified patient referrals through strategic outreach, in-person relationship building, market analysis, and close collaboration with internal marketing and operations teams:
Job Responsibilities:
Referral Relationship Development
- Build, manage, and grow a strong network of referral relationships with physicians, referral coordinators, practice managers, and clinical staff.
- Conduct regular in-person visits and follow-up communications to maintain engagement, address concerns, and strengthen trust with referral partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned referral sources, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and service.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with providers and clinic leadership to educate them on services, outcomes, and referral processes.
Market Growth & Territory Strategy
- Utilize internal data, CRM tools, and market research to identify new referral opportunities and prioritize high-value targets.
- Analyze referral trends and provider activity to uncover growth opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Monitor competitive and market dynamics to inform outreach strategies and positioning.
Marketing & Outreach Collaboration
- Partner closely with the marketing team to develop and deploy outreach materials and campaigns tailored to referral audiences.
- Coordinate segmented outreach efforts, including direct mail and targeted communications, to support provider engagement.
- Assist with planning and participating in local community, networking, and professional events to increase brand awareness and referral relationships.
Reporting, Data & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all provider interactions and activities.
- Prepare monthly activity and performance reports, tracking key metrics and outcomes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of inbound and outbound referral workflows and collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency and patient experience.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making.
Organizational Alignment
- Represent Twin Cities Pain Clinic in a professional manner that reflects the organization’s mission, values, and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical, operations, and marketing teams to ensure seamless coordination and consistent messaging.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales role strongly preferred.
- Experience using CRM systems to track outreach activity, referral relationships, and performance metrics.
- Working aptitude in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have valid driver’s license and auto insurance in good standing.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly travels around the Twin Cities metro area - approximately 75% local travel required; when not on the road, this position works out of an office setting located in Edina.

Compensation & Work Schedule:
- Full-time: 40 hours/week.
- Exempt.
- Day Shift: Monday - Friday; 1 - 2 Saturdays may be required per year.
