    Purpose: The Business Operations Manager, TPPIT, will report to Senior Director of TPPIT Strategy & Business Operations. This key position will partner with the TPPIT S&O team and key partners across TPPIT, PSTS, DPDS and JJIM to help drive business and strategic operations and contribute to progression and implementation of innovative initiatives and foster a culture of effective decision-making continuous improvement.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Manage base business planning and continuous improvement,
    • Support TPPIT strategic planning , staff engagement, and communication.
    • Partner with TPPIT S&O lead, and team leads to manage and progress priorities supporting TPPIT scientific execution, operational effectiveness and innovative capability builds.
    • Support implementation of cross-functional initiative outcomes & functional efficiencies
    • Oversee resource management and effective allocation (workforce, OPEX, CAPEX, non-GxP)
    • Support TPPIT functional operating review and departmental planning
    • Gather, analyze, and synthesize cross-functional information across a variety of sources to turn unstructured business issues and requests into appropriate actions plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverables.
    • Support alignment with internal and external business partners across TPPIT and enabling functions including but not limited to Finance, R&D IT, Data Science, Procurement, Lab Operations, etc.
    • Manage contracted staff.
    • Foster cross-functional relationships where opportunities exist to optimize team effectiveness, remove redundancy or enhance collaboration on similarly scoped initiatives.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders; proactively communicating status, issues, implications and recommendations, seeking advice, and facilitating critical scientific and business decisions
    • Serve as a visible and effective change agent for global initiatives, influencing alignment at a global level, driving change, and achieving results.
    • Support development and implementation of standard tools or process(es) to support organization ways of working and functional capabilities.
    • Apply project management, process excellence, change management, and AI/ML methodologies for sustainable and scalable processes, communication, and collaboration solutions with successful business adoption.
    • Handle multiple priorities and adapt to rapidly changing, fast moving and often ambiguous environment.
    • Serve as a primary delegate for the global TPPIT S&O Lead, as required.

    Qualifications/ Requirements:

    • A Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related field is required (Biology, Biotechnology or other related scientific discipline) and experience in Scientific / Business Operations and Project Management is required.
    • 4-6 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industry in a variety of roles associated with drug development (research and development, project management, scientific and/or business operations) is required.
    • 4 + years of experience in cross functional business / strategic operations or project management role is required.
    • Proven track-record working in international and cross-functional teams and demonstrated matrix experience and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers is required.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; effective in teams and as an individual is required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and support preparation of senior-level discussion documents is required.
    • Must be a self-starter and able to function independently in a fast-paced environment under tight timelines is required.
    • Results driven; ability to propose make data driven solutions and be creative in applying new ideas or solutions is required.
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (business and scientific resource planning and reporting, current state/future state analysis (e.g. data source, data sets, organizational structure, workflows, processes, systems, technologies) is required.
    • Strong technical skills using digital tools with advanced MS Office software capability (Excel, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Word), communication / collaboration platforms (Co-pilot, Viva Engage, Teams, Zoom), workflow applications and visualizations tools (Visio, mindmaps, LucidCharts) is required.
    • A minimum of 6 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience supporting discovery/development projects is preferred.
    • Experience in early-stage drug development is preferred.
    • Certification in PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma is a plus
    • Certification in Change Management is a plus
    • Drug Development knowledge with strong understanding of activities within Research, Preclinical and Clinical Development, Medical and Regulatory is preferred.
