    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Manager of Quality, Safety, and Organizational Improvement, this position is responsible for supporting the hospital’s quality and safety program, the management of special projects, and the completion of data analysis related to quality and patient safety indicators. This position will lead and/or participate in Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Cause Mapping, and focus reviews. This position is also responsible for working in collaboration with the Manager of Quality, Safety, and Organizational Improvement in assuring ongoing compliance with The Joint Commission (JC) accreditation standards, Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) statutory requirements, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Conditions of Participation. Responsible for working with teams to identify and manage improvement opportunities for key operational and clinical initiatives.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Biology or related healthcare field required. Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing or related healthcare field preferred.

     

    Licensure/Certification/Registry:

    • Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification required within 6 months of hire.
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required within 24 months of hire.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years in healthcare related experience is required.
    • Two to three years project management experience strongly preferred, with priority given to LEAN/DMAIC project implementation.
    • Experience leading projects directed at improving health outcomes and/or patient safety preferred.
    • Experience with external accreditation/regulatory requirements with respect to healthcare, environmental, and patient safety strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience working effectively with physicians and other healthcare leaders in a multidisciplinary environment is preferred.

    Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated knowledge in patient safety and quality Improvement principles and practices.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis, draw appropriate conclusions, and convey recommendations to all levels of the organization through written reports, graphs, and group presentations.
    • Excellent verbal and written language skills; ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to promote cooperation, collaboration, and high performance within and across disciplines.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Must be able to work with and communicate with individuals at all levels – patients/families, managers, physicians, etc.
    • Aptitude to work in a complex environment, manage change, and work independently.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
