At BMC, the dedicated Machine Operator has a focus on efficiency, dependability, and safety. This dependable team member makes repetitive cuts with saws and cuts casing in door and window manufacturing. They also use forklifts or other equipment to move materials for cutting.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Pull doors, jambs and hinges based on Value Add (VA) work orders.
2. Organize doors in efficient production order.
3. Set up machine appropriately for handing, bore, mortise and other hardware.
4. Maintain machinery by keeping moving parts clean and free from debris.
5. Label doors for down line activities as well as pulling accuracy.
6. Use forklift or appropriate equipment to move and load or unload materials for door building process.
7. Bin locate finished doors on appropriate carts in order to be located and pulled at later date.
8. Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills

Minimum Education: High school or GED.

Use and read a measuring tape and framing square correctly.

Ability to read and evaluate VA work orders.

Ability to communicate with other coworkers and supervisors.

Must be able to:

1. Lift 65 pounds from ground level to standing position, 20 pounds above my head.
2. Pull 20 pounds from a standing position, from various levels, including above my head.
3. Pull 20 pounds from a kneeling position, from various level, including above my head.
4. Stand and/or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
5. Frequently bend and stoop during an 8-10-hour shift.

Temperatures will vary.

Ability to work in dusty and noisy environment when operating machines and tools.

Ear protection required when exposed to noise for an extended period of time. 

Eye protection and steel toed (safety toed) hard sole leather boots required at all times. 

Overtime work could be involved.  

Required Experience

1. Minimum Experience: Entry-level position requiring background in physical labor type work.

Minimum Education: High school or GED.
