WORK SCHEDULE: Night Shift 7:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M. (either C or D shift)

Pay starts at $19.75/hour with pay increases up to $23.70/hour $1/HOUR ADDED FOR NIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL!

Must be willing and able to work NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS

THE ASSISTANT CUTTER OPERATOR OPERATES the machine, controls through put (quality, machine performance), perform preventative maintenance, perform make ready (i.e.: changeovers), and packs product produced on the flatbed Zerand Cutter. Additionally, this employee makes labels, performs housekeeping duties as needed, as well as performing and completing other work as assigned by Operator or Shift Manager. All employees must follow all of Graphic Packaging International’s safety procedures and policies.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

• PACK PRODUCT: Collect blanks from the packing table, stacking them in an orderly manner, carry them to the skid or basket depending on the product, and pack them according to packing pattern.
• OPERATE MACHINE: Make needed adjustments to machine in order to produce good quality production; fill in for Operators as needed.
• PERFORM MAKE READY (CHANGE OVER): Perform roll changes – splice new roll into completed roll web. Maneuvering of air skid when handling rolls of paper.
• PERFORM ROLL CHANGES: Perform change over on dies when changing product size and type.
• HOUSEKEEPING: Keep area clean and organized. Clean up as needed, mop, sweep, etc.
• RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSURING PRODUCTION OF PRODUCTS CONSISTENT WITH ESTABLISHED FOOD SAFETY, SANITATION AND QUALITY STANDARDS.
• OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

MINUMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Work requires continuous standing, repetitive movement while packing, and the ability to frequently and safely lift product up to 35 lbs. and occasionally co-lift up to 75 lbs. Work also requires self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Finger dexterity great enough to allow clerk to handle money, carry small merchandise items, and operate cash register/POS system.
• Reading and writing skills great enough to allow clerk to comprehend and perform cash handling procedures and complete daily cash register reconciliation paperwork.
• Ability to analyze and remember information and make decisions in order to operate cash register efficiently and solve guests’ problems effectively (i.e., returns, refunds, and exchanges).
• Ability to display salesmanship qualities and create a favorable impression with guests by smiling, making eye contact, maintaining good personal hygiene, and reporting in a clean costume.
• Ability to use color and depth perception in order to arrange displays and to locate merchandise.
• Ability to tolerate noise and stress to accommodate waiting on large numbers of customers.
• Ability to withstand temperature ranges from 32 to 95 degrees and various climatic conditions (i.e., humidity/wetness, dryness/sunlight) due to lack of temperature-controlled shops and location of outdoor carts.
