    We are searching for the best talent for Cap Build & Rel Co-Op to be in Guaynabo or Gurabo, PR.

    • The typical Co-op term is from January, 2026 to January, 2027
    • Full time requirement (40 hours per week)

    Purpose:

    The Digital Operations and Technical Services (DOTS) Operational Excellence team drives excellence in execution, promote responsiveness to our patients, capability building to our employees and led continuous improvement & competitiveness initiatives across the organization. The team leads large-scale operational improvement initiatives, develops, and implements strategies that drive process improvement and cost competitiveness, and builds strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization The OPex (Operational Excellence) team is also responsible for cultural foundation, drive CI (Continuous Improvement) align business priorities and monitor results.

    You will be responsible for:

    The CB&R Coop will implement projects using continuous improvement methodologies to enhance the reliability of our operations and ensure that employees are trained effectively. The Co-Op will assess the capability needs of the organization, support and build training programs, and design and implement strategies to improve the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of our workforce to meet current and future organizational needs. The Co-Op will analyze reliability drivers and collaborate with a multi-functional team to drive data-driven action to enable reliability improvements.

    • Collaborate in the development of a lean leadership programs to accelerate talent and competencies by equipping mid-management leaders with lean principles, tools, behaviors, and practical solutions that help them respond to challenges in their organization.
    • Reinvigorate the gemba process by creating a culture that supports continuous and sustainable improvements. Gets leaders to go where the work is being done and interacts directly with the process and people who are doing the work as part of the Leadership Standard work.
    • Promote CI Belt Certification Program by standardizing the Yellow Belt Program.
    • Expand Lean Health Check Assessors Pool - develop a greater network of CI leaders within our MTO (Manufacturing & Technical Operations) organization.
    • Assess, leverage & deploy a comprehensive curriculum (such as JnJ Learn or Workforce of the Future) that focuses on Digital, Change Leadership, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving.
    • Use digital products to compare and analyze data to improve reliability, drive continuous improvement & transformation at our manufacturing sites.
    • Support Change Management Strategies and data collection for listed initiatives.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at accredited University is required.
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer/Software, Project Management or a related field.
    • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
    • Previous co-op work experience in pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
    • Extracurricular experience (i.e., as a student association membership) in a related field is necessary.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio) is required; Minitab and Power BI is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Computerized Information Systems is preferred.
    • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills; possesses strong leadership qualities.
    • Ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
    • Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently.
    • Candidate must be fully bilingual (Spanish – English).
    • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
