Application Analysts apply information technology to allow maximum benefits for the organization. Analyst will support, design, procure, implement and optimize information systems for departments. In addition, Application Analysts define and provide recommendations to departments, and work with management to provide successful outcomes of patient care as well as meet financial goals of the health system. Application Analyst is responsible for the operational administration and network management of the Systems. This includes programming, maintenance, daily systems monitoring, user management, quality control and performance monitoring, study monitoring, and patient information management. It also includes trouble-shooting and problem solving, security, including development and monitoring of policies and procedures. This position is one of the most knowledgeable within the department of these hardware and software applications and serves as the departments expert on these systems. Job Summary The Application Analyst II formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of the applications used by the health system. Defines end-user requirements, procedures prior to the implementation of their application areas. Confers with other departments to analyze and document current operational procedures. Identify problems and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data are to be summarized, and formats for reports. Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify operations to be performed by equipment, computer programs, as well as operations to be performed by personnel in using the system. Recommend alternative procedures for improvement of workflow, either manual or automated. Have an understanding of the operational and functional areas in the organization and have the ability to communicate effectively with clinicians in these areas. Required to make formal presentations and submit written reports for review purposes. Plans and prepares non-technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program usage. May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects. May direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs. Promotes a positive and professional image of the Information Services & Technology Department and of Cape Fear Valley Health System. Job Qualifications Bachelors degree in information technology or healthcare; work experience in lieu of formal education will be considered. Minimum 1 to 2 years of information systems experience, preferably in healthcare and with Epic, or with relative operational experience.Minimum of three years of information technology work experience required. Minimum 3 years experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist required. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
