Our Discovery Technology and Molecular Pharmacology (DTMP) organization is growing and seeking to add a Cell Culture Scientist to our Tissue Culture Support & Screening Automation team. This role will be responsible for all tissue culture related activities involved with delivering high quality cells to DTMP scientists for use in High Throughput screening (HTS), Compound Profiling (CP), assay development, technology evaluations, downstream triage assays and other objectives requiring delivery and maintenance of live cell cultures and or frozen cell banks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of multiple cell lines for delivery of various sizes and frequencies across multiple output deliverables, including but not limited to, suspensions, flasks, cryopreserved cell, etc
Managing supply of media components (includes ordering, stocking) required to grow / bank / deliver assigned cell lines
Identify, implement, and optimize novel tissue culture technologies and techniques to improve efficiency, throughput, robustness, and quality of cell deliverables
Ordering of TC consumables (specific TC flasks) and Sending out cell lines for testing
Collaborating closely with DTMP scientist to optimize growth of cell lines to achieve performance and quantity goals
Working with assay development scientists to plan seeding schedule and harvest schedule to achieve delivery requirements and cell performance goals
Actively managing multiple cell lines simultaneously
Work closely with DTMP scientists to troubleshoot problematic cell lines and optimize growth conditions
Deliver high quality cells either in suspension at requested density, or plated in an assay plate using one of several plate based liquid handlers (Multidrop Combi)
