    Job Description

    WE WELCOME RECENT GRADUATES!

    This position entitles traveling to our various locations to help support in the medical and mental health of adolescent and adult patients with eating disorders. Duties include, but are not limited to, patient intake and assessments, developing nursing care plans, placing orders, administering medications, performing vital signs, NG tube placement and feedings, and strong documentation skills utilizing our electronic medical records system. This position works closely with the treatment team and administration at each facility to ensure quality patient care.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Travel to individual locations up to 75% of the time
    • Complete Nursing Assessments for new admissions as needed
    • Develop and initiate the Nursing Care Plan at covering location
    • Providing clear and complete client documentation
    • Implement Physician Orders
    • Availability for consultation after hours and returns telephone calls/pages within a ten-minute time frame
    • When onsite at a facility assist with counting narcotics daily, logs appropriately
    • Complete weekly lab draw when covering onsite at any given location
    • Complete med room audit when onsite at any given location
    • Meeting regularly with medical staff to discuss patient treatment
    • Providing assessments of medical problems
    • Performing primary first aid and determining need for physician notification
    • When covering at a location meet with each patient, completing a daily assessment, taking vital signs and administering all prescription medications.
    • Responsibility for carrying out any orders received from the physician and psychiatrist, and reporting information to the program administration, as appropriate
    • Contributing insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process
    • Directing residents in a clear, concise, and informative matter
    • Understanding the therapeutic process and confidentiality laws, and having strong knowledge of professional ethics
    • Demonstrating leadership abilities, with an ability to communicate with persons from all educational and cultural backgrounds
    • Demonstrating tact, initiative, resourcefulness, a professional manner, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental attitude

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Compact RN license required 
    • Mental health nursing experience is a plus
    • Knowledge of JCAHO & State regulatory requirements
    • Knowledge of nursing principles and practice
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of Axis I diagnosis and symptoms
    • Knowledge of medications and their proper application and use
    • Able to take vital signs, provide first aid, and perform basic evaluation proc
