Participates in substantial community relations activities with a wide variety of constituencies on behalf of CentraState Healthcare System. The Community Relations Coordinator often serves as the face of CentraState in the community and is responsible for developing a positive, professional image conducive to building long lasting relationships with our customers. Serves as a key source of market intelligence providing direct communications between and the community and the Hospital Team. Responsibilities * Acts as consultant and educator for community groups about CSHC full range of services. * Personally visits and arranges meetings with persons responsible for or in a position to refer clients, including private, public and non-profit organizations. * Develops and nurtures contacts/relationships with community groups and business organizations. Takes participatory or leadership role as appropriate. * Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information and demographics in terms of the needs of the communities in the primary and secondary service area. * Oversees development of a community health assessment for the System as required by the Affordable Care Act. * Demonstrates an understanding of the range of services available based on the needs of the communities. * Provides administration and appropriate staff with feedback and information from the community. * Participates in community events in each service area municipality. * Establishes and maintains a working relationship with municipal and county officials both elected and appointed. * Assists with the coordination of marketing sponsorships /advertising to support townships and local non-profits including events, health fairs, journal ads and speakers. * Represent CSHC to the larger community which may include delivering speeches and coordinating programs on health care to various community organizations. Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in healthcare, education, public relations, business, government or related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in education, government and/or healthcare. Evidence of substantial community involvement. Required Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated expertise in public relations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficient. Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team and the community. Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment. Proactive problem prevention and issue resolution leadership ability. Self-motivated, extroverted and enthusiastic individual who is self-directed with good organizational skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Exhibits a sense of urgency for goal achievement with strong commitment to results. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Demands Working Conditions: Normal office environment with frequent visits to locations across the System and off-site. Exposure: No expected exposure to blood and/or body fluids.
