• Orange County, CA Reporting to SPD Supervisor of Sterile Processing, performs a variety of duties in relation to decontamination, preparation/assembly, sterilization, and distribution of trays and sets, case arts, equipment, maintains sterilization logs, instrument tracking system and supply inventory in the sterile processing department without direct supervision. Performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of department equipment. Participates in distribution of supplies to customers while maintaining excellent customer service. Qualifications Required: * One year minimum Sterile Processing experience * High School graduate or equivalent and certification from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM), and/or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) * For associates hired prior to 5/1/2017 as level II: Technician Certification required within 2 years of employment. (CBSPD or IAHCSMM)). All other new hires must be certified within 1 year of employment * Proficient in verbal and written English with excellent telephone and customer service skills * Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment * Basic knowledge and skill of computer use and instrument tracking system * English Proficient * Basic Life Support , Cert Sterile Proc & Dist Tech , Intl Assn Hlthcare Ctl Svc MM Preferred: * One year Sterile Processing experience * Previous hospital experience preferred * Course in medical terminology, human anatomy, microbiology, infection control, decontamination, disinfection, instrument assembly, and packaging, high-level sterilization, biological testing, and inventory management and distribution are required * Knowledge of sterilization standards/operations, autoclave operations and biological monitoring are vital Job Allied Health Primary LocationOrange County Organization Children's Hospital Orange Co.
