    Job Description

    Classy is seeking a creative, socially-minded content strategist to join our team. This person will be responsible for writing unique, individually curated content to be used across our marketing efforts, from lead generation to customer support. Through weekly blog posts, ebooks, reports, sales enablement materials, marketing collateral, and digital assets (web, email, advertising), this content strategist will ideate and generate content that equips nonprofits, achieves our marketing goals, and elevates Classy as a leader in the space.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    We're a fast-paced, dynamic company and team. You will wear many hats, but your primary day-to-day focus will be researching and writing content to be distributed across our marketing channels. Here are the things you'll likely be responsible for: 

    • Ideate, research, and write 1 to 3 blog posts each week
    • Prepare and publish the blog content you create, writing unique meta descriptions and social teaser copy to be used to distribute the content you produce
    • Collaborate with the marketing, sales, product, and customer support teams—as well as external influencers or thought leaders—to develop content ideas for both the blog and general marketing content
    • Develop quarterly long-form content that drives demand and nurtures audience engagement, including ebooks, educational tools, sales collateral, etc.
    • Lead content strategy for integrated marketing campaigns from ideation to content creation
    • Write unique content for video scripts, speeches, and long-form reports
    • Identify opportunities for and create customer case studies 
    • Use Google Analytics, HubSpot, and Salesforce to analyze key success metrics on a monthly basis and provide data-driven insights to optimize content effectiveness and results
    • Write SEO-focused content for blog posts, landing pages, and product pages
    • Contribute to SEO strategy initiatives, ensuring consistent progress, reviewing SEO target terms on an ongoing basis for prioritization and relevancy, and executing on tactics
    • Edit content for blog posts, email, social media, landing pages
    • Design and execute experiments to improve the quality and efficacy of overall content strategy
    • Brainstorm and implement creative content and design suggestions to optimize blog posts for maximum SEO exposure, pageviews, and conversions
    • Work with our design team to bring your creative content pieces to life
    • Brainstorm and create compelling social media content
    • Research, learn, and develop a point of view on major nonprofit/fundraising/social sector best practices
    • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and Classy core messages, and help keep the company at the forefront of developments in the marketing and nonprofit space

    WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or related field preferred
    • 3+ years experience in content marketing, marketing, or journalism
    • Exposure to or experience with nonprofits (not required, but ideal)
    • Excellent writing and editing skills, with an emphasis on creating easy-to-understand material
    • Strong research skills and attention to detail
    • Strong knowledge of of AP style
    • Highly motivated self-starter who manages time and deadlines with a great attitude
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines
    • Enthusiastic team player who is adaptable in the face of shifting priorities
    • Superb communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
    • Keen analytical skills to enhance the impact of your and the team's work
    • Experience with, or willingness to learn new technology tools to streamline processes, including Asana
    • Knowledge of email marketing and social media/reporting tools a plus, but not required (Google Analytics, HubSpot, Hootsuite, Salesforce)
    • Basic understanding of WordPress
    • A talent for simplifying complex stories and concepts
