This position will be at Main Campus and it will be for the PM team. HVAC, air handlers, pumps, steam humidifiers, chilled water systems, refrigeration equipment. - Job Responsibilities: - Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. - Monitors and maintains all HVAC related equipment such as air handlers, pumps, steam humidifiers, chilled water systems, refrigeration equipment and the related building automation to HVAC equipment. - Repairs or replaces any broken HVAC related components as is required to keep critical HVAC systems functional. - Prepares reports regarding the function, status and general state of HVAC equipment. - Ensures safe and effective operations and working environment. - Work may occasionally be assigned across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations. - Other duties as assigned. Education: - High school diploma or equivalent required. Certifications: - Chlorofluorocarbons certification (CFC) or a Third Class Stationary Engineer License is preferred. Competencies (Complexity of Work): - Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Work Experience: - Minimum three years of experience in one or more of the following areas: steam distribution systems, condensate systems, large chiller systems, water distribution systems, cooling towers and air handling systems. - Knowledge of fire protection equipment, building automation equipment, emergency generators, and controls is preferred. - Working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics. Physical Requirements: - Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders. - Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs. - Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.
