Gift Planning Intern, Philanthropy - Req #: 34086 - location: Cleveland, OH - facility: Cleveland Clinic Main Campus - professional area: Student Opportunities - department: Philanthropy Institute - jobcode: A01005 - schedule: Part time - shift: null - Job Details Job Summary: Responsible for conducting tax and legal research in all areas of philanthropy, including but not limited to: charitable giving, non-profits, international giving, estate planning, HIPAA, and accounting issues. Responsible for overseeing administration of estate gifts to the organization. Advise of any significant legislative updates or case law that may affect the department. Students in their 2nd year of Law School are strongly preferred. Takes direction from assigned supervisor or leader. Assists with administrative, clerical, patient service or operational support duties. Responsibilities: - While following all department procedures and guidelines, completes daily assignments, projects or tasks. - Maintains equipment, files, databases. - Participates in performance improvement activities or meetings then recommends actions to improve results. - Once trained and assigned, assists with patient service functions. - Other duties as assigned. Education: - High School Diploma or GED preferred. - Some positions may require additional education or training. Certifications: - None required. Complexity of Work: - May require critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. - Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Work Experience: - Experience required will vary by assigned department and position. Physical Requirements: - Requires occasional computer entry, sitting, standing and walking to attend meetings. - Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.
