  • Responsibilities

    The Patient Account Representative primary role is to be the liaison between a third party billing company and CRMC. This role will also work directly with patients, insurance carriers and other billing entities to achieve a clean claim billing process. S/he coordinates with healthcare staff to assure proper coding, processing and documentation of patient diagnoses and treatment for optimum insurance claim reimbursement. The Patient Account Representative will assist with reviewing billing insurance companies remits for all healthcare charges, pursues collection of claims until payment is made by insurance companies and performs other work associated tasks that occur through the patient billing process.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Assists with healthcare claims to third-party insurance carriers
    • Assists with necessary medical documentation required or requested by third-party insurance carriers
    • Assists with follow up with third-party carriers on unpaid claims
    • Assists with processing of payer rejections/denials
    • Assists with ICD10 and CPT charge code capture
    • Assists with the monitoring of overall claims process
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
    • Complete work in a timely manner to assure compliance with departmental standards and filing of claims
    • Assist with Client bill invoicing and follow up steps as needed for occupational healthcare accounts.

    The Patient Account Representative assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
    • Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
    • Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
    • 10 key knowledge and computer experience, required

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • H.S. graduate or GED, required
    • Associates or Bachelor Degree in any field of Healthcare, preferred
    • 2+ years of healthcare coding and/or billing, required
