    Digital Marketing Specialist (Remote) - Full-Time

    The Digital Marketing Specialist is a strategic team member to help in our overall marketing efforts at Common Threads. Responsibilities include developing, overseeing, and optimizing digital marketing initiatives to maximize brand awareness. The Digital Marketing Specialist should be well-versed in specialized marketing concepts, principles, and tactics. The goal is to deliver effective marketing campaigns that will help increase our digital footprint and growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and lead Common Threads external communication strategy for various channels (including Google Ads, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, MailChimp)

    • Oversee and manage vendors, partners and third-party sponsors that support ad sources (such as editorial sites and event sponsorships) to build brand awareness.

    • Define, analyze, and optimize essential metrics for social media performance. Provide monthly campaign and analytics reports on project KPIs, including social media engagement and growth, newsletter subscriber metrics, website brand awareness metrics and overall donation actions.

    • Measure the success of every fundraising campaign based on the performance of account KPIs.

    • Work with the manager and designer to bring the most effective ads/campaigns to market.

    • Drive evident fundraising growth through communication and media strategies and tactics.

    • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic media placements for brand growth, lead generation programs, and other promotional efforts based on segment objectives.

    • Stay up to date with the latest marketing and communication best practices and technologies. Brainstorm and collaborate with internal teams on new ideas and tactics.

    • Conduct market research to find social trends relevant to the organization in support of mission

    • Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns

    • Manage and assist in the creation of monthly blogs to support organization thought leadership and push KPI’s on website traffic by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, marketing, journalism etc.)

    • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels

    • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies

    • Other responsibilities and tasks of a marketing plan as assigned (such as: photography, video creation, file management)

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a marketing specialist or similar role
    • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods
    • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools
    • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite and CRM), and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
    • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools (e.g. Dreamweaver) desired
    • Well-organized and detail-oriented
    • Exceptional communication and writing skills
    • Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field
    • At least 2 years of experience in marketing (digital and traditional)
    • 3-5 years of experience in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, content management software and customer relationship management.
    • Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
    • Strong proficiency in Google Analytics, MailChimp, Canva, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Ads, Wordpress and LinkedIn Ads
    • Strong knowledge and experience of all different digital marketing channels, online marketing tools, and best practices
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Experience in vendor relationships and management
    • Highly creative yet process-driven and relies on data to make decisions
    • Strong project management skills and experience working in a deadline-driven work environment
    • Proven experience evaluating and negotiating media placements
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail for precise analysis of data
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work with teams and collaborate
    • Time management and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks

    • This is a full-time position and maintains a traditional work week schedule (generally 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday), but may require some weekend and evening work for special events.
