Special Education Teacher

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering lessons that cater to the individual needs and capabilities of the students under your supervision. You will set learning goals for each student, assess their progress, and record evaluations. You will collaborate with parents to support students with behavioral needs and keep guardians updated on their progress.

In this role, you will work to ensure that all students' needs are met, regardless of their background, and that every student has access to an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will create an atmosphere that promotes respect, equity, and inclusivity, and you will actively incorporate DEI principles into your teaching methods.

To be qualified for this role, you should have a B.A. degree, with an M.A. preferred, and be certified by the Connecticut State Department of Education holding a Special Education Certificate 165 or equivalent. You should also have a deep understanding and appreciation of DEI principles and their application in the classroom.
