The Licensed Vocation Nurse performs a variety of patient care activities/interventions for patients of varying ages under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Required Skills
- Provides patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse and consistent with policy and procedure.
- Provides for safety and security needs of the patient.
- Communicates verbally and in writing, consistent with policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates competence in performing activities delegated by the Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or service appropriate to the age of all the patients served in the nursing unit/department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- License/Registration/Certification Current license as a LVN in the State of Texas. Current CPR.
- Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
- Skills:
* Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
* Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of an LVN
* Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions
* Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes
