POSITION SUMMARY:
THE HR EVENTS AND SUPPORT SPECIALIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING, COORDINATING AND EXECUTING ALL ASSIGNED HR EVENTS WHILE ASSISTING IN BUILDING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES ABOUT THOSE EVENTS TO EMPLOYEES. THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PROGRAM, MAINTAINING EDUCATION TRACKING SYSTEM, AUDITING AND ADMINISTRATIVE/HUMAN RESOURCE DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. THE HR EVENT AND SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING IN THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE DEPARTMENTAL INTRANET PAGES.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree and/or relevant field preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1-3 years experience in Human Resources required.
- Experience working with Benefits strongly preferred.
- Experience in event planning strongly preferred.
- SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent organization and customer service skills. Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly while meeting established deadlines.
- Knowledgeable about benefits laws (COBRA, PPACA, ADA, FMLA, etc.) preferred.
- Must have the ability to handle highly confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel.
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must have be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and strong attention to detail both mechanically and technically.
- Must possess above average problem-solving skills, judgment, and flexibility.
- General knowledge of extracting information from database systems preferred.
- Strong computer skills with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT and Publisher) required.
- Experience with basic web design strongly preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create, coordinate and execute special Hospital events such as, but not limited to, Employee Awards Banquet, Random Acts of Appreciation, Hospital Week, 25+ Club, Summer Picnic, etc. Create new ways to engage staff through events and assist in developing new recognition events.
- Partner with leadership team in designing and executing activities designed to enrich morale and employee engagement. Support leadership to recognize and demonstrate appreciation to employees in a consistent and timely manner.
- Maintain and update Net Learning Education system for all departments.
- Routinely enter in events/classes, record attendance, upload learning modules and run reports as requested.
- Assist in the administration of the Craig Hospital Employee Benefit Program which includes but is not limited to assisting with new employee enrollment process and the open enrollment process and processing qualifying life status changes; respond to benefit inquiries from employees on plan benefits, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Coordinate COBRA letters, receive, track and process COBRA payments appropriately. Post and track payment for COBRA health insurance and assist with participant communication regarding delinquent payments, rate changes, and open enrollment.
- Manage the tuition reimbursement program, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing of reimbursements.
- Work with Marketing and Media department to craft dynamic and effective communication and web pages.
- Responsible for timely updates to HR and OHS intranet web pages and ensuring that content is accurately displayed and up to date.
- Act as backup for routine and moderately complex benefits questions or processes; escalating more complex issues as needed.
- Assist in other HR and OHS related functions, seeking out ways to provide support in the areas of employee benefits and services, employee relations, compliance, safety and health, recruiting and orientation.
