    The STAFF TRAINING COORDINATOR develops, implements, and evaluates all orientation and educational programs for all departments within the facility. This position requires the ability and desire to work with a diverse group of individuals in a respectful and professional manner.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • One (1) year of full-time experience planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in a healthcare setting.
    • Within six (6) months of accepting this position, the incumbent will obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education focusing on planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs in a healthcare setting and mental health.
    • Secondary degree or certification preferred.
    • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
    • Current knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the delivery of healthcare in California and demonstrable understanding of disabilities and treatment are essential.
    • Current knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation, trauma-informed services, and recovery philosophy strongly preferred.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborates with the Corporate Director of Education in planning, organizing, and directing staff education services.
    • Makes use of management practices that include empowerment of staff, the provision of clear and concise expectations regarding duties assigned to employees, frequent feedback focusing on both positive and problematic aspects of work performance and other management practices that are consistent with continuous quality improvement.
    • Within one (1) year the incumbent will demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of current techniques of behavioral assessments, interventions and response as well as, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Wellness Recovery Action Plans, Motivational Interviewing, and the Community Resiliency Model.
    • Assists directors in the selection, training, clinical supervision and evaluation of the competency of the staff.
    • Collaborates with the Corporate Director of Education and other administrative staff in strategic planning activities with the goal of ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of the facility.
    • Evaluates and assesses the educational needs of personnel by maintaining open and collaborative communication with staff stakeholders.
    • Facilitates staff attendance for outside educational programs and maintains complete and accurate records.
    • In conjunction with the Corporate Director of Education, plans and implements educational programs. In the process utilizes the following skills: scheduling, writing lesson plans, obtaining supplies and equipment, maintaining necessary records, teaching, and evaluation.
    • Plans, implements, evaluates, and records attendance and coordinates the orientation program, the in-service program, and the continuing education program for all facility personnel. Collaborates with the department managers and the medical director regarding topics and staff needs.
    • Manages the education program within allocated budgetary parameters.
    • Ensures that the facility is in compliance with all related educational and in‑service regulations for state, federal, and local licensing regulations and requirements.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of Crestwood's stakeholders, including clients, families, and governmental agencies in all interactions and conduct.
    • Actively participates in regular supervision and performance improvement sessions with Corporate Director of Education and/or direct supervisors.
    • Within six (6) months of accepting this position, the incumbent will complete the Core Competencies training facilitated by the Corporate Director of Education or designee.
    • Within one (1) year of accepting this position, the incumbent will complete the Professional Assault Crisis Training (ProACT) certification. The incumbent will ensure that all her/his certifications, including but not limited to ProACT, are maintained current and in good standing.
    • Works with clients in training capacity, if applicable.
