POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR PAYROLL SPECIALIST Erigo is seeking full-time Payroll Specialist to assist in payroll administration by taking on such tasks as processing timesheets, paychecks, child support and wage garnishments, and providing excellent customer service to clients. SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week. BENEFITS: The following benefits are available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, paid time off, and 401(k). Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. COMPENSATION: $16-$20/hour, commensurate with experience and education. DUTIES: * Timely process a wide range of employee data (including, but not limited to new hires, changes, additional earnings).* * Reconcile, process, and calculate employee time and attendance data.* * Process payroll for multiple clients including child support garnishments, benefit contributions, payroll taxes, vendor payments, and other deductions as necessary. * * Assist with preparation of payroll and tax reports. * Process employee verification of employment (VOE) requests.* * Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service via phone or email to clients and employees who have questions about pay, deductions, taxes, how to enter time or time off, where to locate forms and information, where to send completed forms, who to contact for benefit questions,.* * Administration of payroll records in full legal compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. * Other job duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: * Strong sense of ethics.* * Experience with payroll processing.* * Familiarity and competency working with integrated HRIS/Payroll system. * Excellent organization and attention to detail.* * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.* * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Exceptional customer service skills.* * Ability to manage time effectively.* * Ability to read and comprehend instructions.* * Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure.* * Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. * Basic understanding of wage and hour laws.* * Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience. * 2-4 years of payroll experience. * Desire to obtain FPC or CPP. * Must have advanced attention to detail skills. * Must be able to work under tight deadlines. * Must have excellent customer service skills. * Must have a general understanding of accounting. * Must be a self-starter, motivated, well-organized, and willing to learn new skills. * Must be able to deal with difficult, sensitive, and confidential issues. * Must have strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities. * Must be a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills. * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel. * Must adhere to confidentiality policy. * Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test and be willing to submit to a criminal background check. *Indicates essential job functions.
