Cancer Immunology Summer Intern, Immuno-Oncology focused Cancer Immunology South San Francisco, California Description CytomX Therapeutics is unlocking the potential of antibody therapeutics in oncology by developing a novel therapeutic antibody class of highly targeted Probody therapeutics. The current opening offers an opportunity to learn about drug development in a fast-moving and dynamic R&D environment. Reporting to an Associate Scientist, Cancer Immunology, over the 12-week assignment, the intern will learn to perform pre-clinical in vitro and cell-based functional assays to assess Probodies for immune oncology targets. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with enthusiasm for learning. Research Plan and Projects * Execute molecular biology techniques, including cloning and DNA preparation * Perform antibody and Probody production by transient mammalian cell transfections and purification * In vitro characterization by ELISA and BLI Octet * In vitro cell based functional assays utilizing PBMCs Qualifications * Actively pursuing a Masters degree in a Biotechnology program or a Bachelors Degree in the biological sciences highly preferred * Previous cell culture experience and knowledge of basic immunology preferred * Very organized and capable of keeping accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebooks * Ability to work both independently and enjoy collaborative interactions Please include a cover letter with all resume submissions.
