Position Components

In this role, you will work with colleagues in the JNJ Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization and partner with key businesses across JNJ Innovative Medicine (formerly Janssen) to apply advanced data science and analytics to answer key research questions. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare. You will be a member of a dynamic team comprising data scientists and subject matter experts to create and iterate on data science solutions.

Specifically, we are seeking an enthusiastic intern to collaborate with the Global Development Advanced Analytics (GDAA) team. In this role, you will support site-level enrollment simulations for a diverse range of clinical trial sites, evaluating the likelihood of meeting enrollment targets at both regional and study levels. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting high-level experiments for a variety of sites, extracting valuable insights for clinical trial managers, and engaging with relevant stakeholders to communicate the outcomes of the simulation exercise effectively. As a key outcome of your internship, you will be tasked with creating a presentation that encapsulates the insights gained during the simulation process.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of data mining and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with predictive modeling and analysis of large datasets.
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following:

• Currently pursuing PhD in Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Knowledge of healthcare and experience in the analysis of healthcare datasets such as clinical trials, and Real-World Data (claims, EMR/EHR, surveys, and observational studies).
• Previous experience in designing and executing simulations, using methodologies such as sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo, agent-based modeling, and others.
• Proficiency in SQL, in addition to Python.
