The responsibilities of the PCA / HUA include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The PCA / HUA must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. supports the assigned unit by facilitating communication with patients, staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments. The PCA / HUA directs incoming calls and responds to patient calls, maintains patient charts, unit files and secretarial supply levels and is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:Education:HS/GED required. Experience:Must have completed a certified nursing assistant training program (exception: PCAs or CV Aides hired prior to August 2007) or have previously worked as a patient care aide for at least 6 months or have completed the first quarter or semester of clinicals as a nursing student enrolled in an accredited college.Require previous unit secretary experience. Completion of Huntsville Hospitals unit secretary course preferred.Options
